I was asked recently to sew 2 stoles. One would be decorated by the parish children and one would remain plain. They would both be sent to another church in Africa. Those children would decorate the stole and send it back here. The stoles are ecru cotton twill.
The back has a seam and is shaped so it will lie flat against the back of the neck. Some stoles I've noticed have a point in back.
Here is one received by a different church.
Hi I was searching online for a pattern so a Priest's Stole and came across this. I was wondering if you would be able to send your pattern to me or as least let me know where you got it from. My e-mail is ttoffolon@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI hope to hear from you!

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog! For the stole, I actually just traced one provided to me. It is basically a rectangle 5"x53" with one end curving.
ReplyDeleteCut 4 pieces of fabric. Sew 2 together at the center back, and then sew the other 2 together. You should have 2 identical long pieces. Sew them right sides together, leaving one end open for turning. Turn right side out, sew the end shut, press.
Hope this helps!
