while completing a drawstring bag.
Supplies to bring to class: sewing machine
and everything that came with it, machine
manual, bobbin, machine needles, thread,
1 yard of broadcloth, 1 yard of ½” wide

Clothing Alteration and Repair

Save money by fixing the clothes you
already own! Students can bring in their
own clothes in need of work or bring in
fabric for making samples of techniques.
Examples shown will vary with the
projects brought in but will include
zippers, hems, buttons, buttonholes, and
pockets. Supplies to bring to the first
class: clothing and/or 1 yard of fabric for
samples, 7” zipper, button, seam ripper,
hem/seam gauge, sewing machine,
manual, bobbin, machine needle, thread,

to hold your clothes together – gain more
wear from your wardrobe and save money
by fixing it yourself.
