About

Cynthia Stockdon and Cat Song Stitchery

I have been sewing since 1973 and teaching creative endeavors since 1994.  I have sewn for dance troops, a museum, theater, retail stores and individuals- everything from swimsuits to wedding gowns.  I love making my own jeans!  Dancing, yoga, biking and camping with my kids and husband are all favorite things I do. The environment is very important to me.  I try to live lightly.  I regularly use my fabric scraps in pet beds and donate them to our local SPCA, instead of just throwing them out.  I sew a variety of charity items to donate (more than 50 items donated since 2009).  I enjoy volunteering at my children's schools, church, the American Sewing Guild and cub scouts.  I started this blog as a way to teach others and share my love of creating.  Cat Song Stitchery Blog is all about sewing, quilting, creating, book reviews, pattern reviews, pdf sewing patterns, tutorials, and how tos. You will find tips, instructions, projects I'm working on, and great new items from my shop! Plus anything else I can think of that you might find interesting. Cat Song Stitchery specializes in handmade fun fabric creations and pdf sewing patterns. Perfect for those who enjoy one-of-kind, usable, casual designs with personality. Often eco-friendly too! Check out my shop at http://catsongstitchery.etsy.com/. I teach sewing in group classes and private lessons.  I update my blog weekly or more often. Thank you for visiting! Send your questions or topics you would like to see addressed to catsongstitchery@netzero.com I will try to cover them in upcoming blog posts.

Happy Sewing!
