Clinton Kelly of What Not To Wear

I am so excited because I just got to see Clinton Kelly of TLC's What Not To Wear in person!
He spent an hour commentating a fashion show and then answering questions at our local Macy's.
He is charming and really funny.
He says peplums, lace, snakeskin, teal and burgundy are really big looks this fall.  Make sure you add shine, print, texture or color to each outfit to make it interesting.  All of your metals don't have to match (earrings, necklace, rings, purse hardware, shoes etc.).  He also pointed out that the hardest colors to wear near your face are black, beige, yellow and red.  It depends on your skin undertones.  If you have a red face, then wearing red draws attention to that-same with yellow.  Wearing beige can draw attention to any skin imperfections and black can draw attention to wrinkles.
I could have listened to him longer, but he had to catch a plane so he could go to the Emmy's tonight!

  1. Sounds like great fun.

Not sure what peplums are, but then that probably shows off my lack of fashion sense.

I don't think you'll ever see me in lace or snakeskin, but I do like teal and burgundy.

  2. It was fun! A peplum is a flouncy skirt added to a top or jacket. Don't worry, I don't have any peplums or snakeskin either!
