Our neighbors cats like to hang out in our yard because they get lots of attention!

This is Hugo, our newest rat.  We are teaching him to ride on our shoulders, like the others.

Because we are so close to Halloween, I had to include a black cat, glaring down at me!

Feline Friday

So I really have been sewing this week, just no pictures to show for it yet.  I've been organizing my stash and planning future projects.  This week's cat is birdseed.  I had fun arranging him in my backyard and then waiting for birds to come.  Unfortunately, I could not stare out the window all day.  I missed the feast.

I don't know if squirrels or birds took apart my cat.  We decided to let Cloud finish the job.  I call it "Rodent's Revenge".

He enjoyed the irony of it.

Rat Round Up

 Couldn't let the rats feel left out!  Above is Stripe, sampling the cat food.  They do live in a cage, so they are not out roaming around without supervision.

Rats in My Tree!

Don't worry I put them there!  This is Cloud and Stripe enjoying a Christmas romp in the tree.  The kids go back to school Jan.3rd.  I will have lots of sewing posts after that!

Okay, so any time I post pet pictures, it pretty much means I haven't had any time to sew!  School is starting soon so I will be able to sew more.  I do actually have a project in the works.

Pets on Quilts Show

Stripe, my son's rat likes hanging out on this scrappy yo-yo quilt.  I sewed it years ago.  Partly by hand, partly by machine- I couldn't seem to decide!

Here are Cloud and Stripe sharing secrets.

Welcome New Rats!

I love cats, but I also love rats!  My son wanted his own for his birthday, so here are Stripe and Cloud riding on Alice's back.  There are about 2 months old.  They are boys, like my son, even though girl rats keep a tidier cage.  We are thrilled to have rats again.

Rat Haiku

I have cats but I also have a rat too. They make great pets. So she does not feel left out, here is my ode to rats.

Constantly sniffing

Testing all for food-maybe

Rat scurries away.

Here and there again

Tasting with tiny wet tongue

Busy, busy rat.

Noses touching once

Too much for playful kittens

Rattie wins this round!

Okay, so I never said I was a poet! Back to sewing!
